My Biodata

I’m Melissa, a 3rd year undergraduate in pursuing my Bachelor of Science, major in Life Science with concentration in Biomedical Science. Drawn by the captivating wonder of life form, I’ve never hesitated to continue my passion in life science after my graduation (Diploma of Biotechnology - Merit) from Ngee Ann Polytechnic. Through my education experience, I’ve developed a strong interest in medical sciences and see my future career in the biomedical science and health care sector. My aspiration is to be a genetic counsellor. I believe the need to help people understand the nature of genetic diseases and the effects that maybe implicated on lives. With determination, I want to see my own contribution to biomedical sciences sector in future. Besides acquiring special interest in life sciences, I also have unwavering interest for architecture, history and culture. I love travelling and am especially intrigued by the food cultures of various European countries. Someday, I hope to travel around Europe and fulfil my other passion in photography at the same time. Being a co-owner of an online shop, it enables me to be equipped with various entrepreneur skills such as better organisation & decision making, and coping with greater responsibilities.

    Hi Melissa,
    Comprehensive career objective there! You do seem to have myriad interests, thats good for working in an MNC! The wide variety of experiences also bespeak a broadened mind, and therefore able to adapt well to different situations!

    Hello Melissa,

    With a definite goal in life (which in your case, is to be a genetic counsellor), working towards it would be easier as compared to one who does not have a goal. However, you do seem to have a variety of interests which may eventually become a job in the future (such as your online shop). Rest assured that you will find a job which you like since you possess diverse interests!

    Hi Melissa,
    I think it is great that you are passionate about what you are studying and sees the knowledge that you have acquired as a way of contributing back to the society.
    Besides that, I sincerely hope that you will have the opportunity to do all the other things that you are interested in as well as I always believe that trying out new and different things adds more color to our lives.
